Cookie policy

Last updated: 4 May 2026. This document explains how Brixalonzik.world uses cookies and similar technologies. Australia does not have a single statute equivalent to the EU “cookie law.” Instead, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) apply when cookies or similar technologies collect or use personal information (for example, an IP address or an identifier that can reasonably identify you). We also follow guidance from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) on online privacy. For visitors in the EEA or UK, the GDPR, UK GDPR, and related rules may impose additional consent requirements for non-essential cookies.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits used by analytics or advertising partners. They help the site remember preferences, measure traffic, or deliver relevant reminders about our workshops when you have agreed to marketing cookies.

We distinguish between strictly necessary technologies required to operate the site (for example, to remember your cookie choices or to keep a session secure) and optional technologies such as analytics or marketing, which we only activate after you consent where consent is required by law.

Analytics and machine learning: If you enable analytics or marketing cookies, the vendors we use may apply statistical or machine-learning methods to aggregated or pseudonymous data (for example to attribute traffic to a campaign). That processing is covered by our Privacy policy and, where personal information is involved, the APPs. It is separate from generative AI features described under AI & algorithmic transparency.

2. Categories we use

Category Purpose Typical duration
Strictly necessary Security, load balancing, storing cookie consent state Session to twelve months
Analytics Aggregated statistics on page views and navigation paths Up to twenty-four months per vendor defaults
Marketing Measuring campaign performance and remarketing where enabled Up to twenty-four months per vendor defaults

Exact cookie names may change when we update software. The banner categories remain the authoritative split between necessary and optional processing.

3. Australian law: transparency, consent, and legitimate expectations

Under APP 1 (open and transparent management of personal information), we maintain this policy and our Privacy policy so you understand what we collect and why.

Under APP 3 and APP 5, we only collect personal information by fair and lawful means, and—when we collect it from you—we take reasonable steps to notify you of matters such as our identity, the purposes of collection, and how to access this policy.

Where a cookie or script collects information that is personal information, we use it for purposes you would reasonably expect (such as operating and securing the site) or for other purposes allowed under the Privacy Act (for example, with your consent for optional analytics or marketing). IP addresses and device identifiers used by analytics partners may be personal information depending on context.

EEA/UK: we rely on consent for non-essential cookies where required, and on legitimate interests or strict necessity for essential cookies. You may withdraw consent by clearing cookies, using the banner again, or contacting us.

Our banner provides Accept all, Reject (optional cookies off), and Cookie settings with category toggles. Strictly necessary cookies stay on because the site cannot work without them.

4. Third parties and browser controls

If we enable analytics or marketing vendors, each will process data under their own privacy notices. We select vendors who offer data processing agreements where required. Marketing cookies, when you enable them, may support platforms such as Google Ads (for example conversion measurement or remarketing lists) in addition to our own session reminders. You can also block cookies through browser settings, but blocking necessary cookies may break features such as remembering your consent.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) or similar browser signals may be honoured by some vendors where the law requires. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking all cookies may affect how the site remembers your preferences.

For access, correction, or complaints about personal information collected via cookies, see our Privacy policy and the OAIC contact details listed there.

5. Updates and contact

We may update this Cookie policy when we change tools or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, a short notice on the website.
